Digital Shaper Program – AI/Deep Learning Track

The AI & Deep Learning Track offered by TechLabs Rotterdam is designed to provide learners with an in-depth understanding of artificial intelligence, with a strong focus on deep learning techniques and their applications.

Purpose and Aims:
The course aims to equip learners with the knowledge needed to build and apply deep learning models, particularly in areas such as image recognition and autonomous systems. It covers both the theoretical underpinnings and practical applications of neural networks and AI algorithms.

Target Audience:
This track is ideal for learners who already have programming experience and want to dive deeper into AI technologies. It is well-suited for those who are looking to enhance their skills in machine learning, data science, or AI-driven problem solving.

Key Knowledge and Skills:
Participants will develop:

• A solid understanding of deep learning algorithms and neural network architectures.
• Practical skills in building image recognition systems using neural networks.
• Proficiency in Python, with a focus on deep learning libraries such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Knowledge of the mathematical foundations behind training neural networks.
• Awareness of AI ethics and the strategic implications of AI in industry.

Course Structure and Syllabus:
The course is part of TechLabs’ Digital Shaper Program and is delivered either locally or remotely. The track includes a blend of online learning and project-based work. The deep tech elements of the syllabus focus on:

• Neural networks and their parameters.
• Reinforcement learning systems for tasks like object detection and autonomous driving.
• AI’s strategic use in industries like healthcare, finance, and technology.
• Learners are encouraged to apply their new skills to real-world projects, gaining hands-on experience in deploying AI models. The program culminates in a final project presentation, which also serves as the assessment.

Teaching and Assessment:
Teaching combines remote learning with in-person mentorship and project work. Assessment is based on a final project where learners must build and present an AI-driven solution. Upon completion, learners receive a certificate that can be added to their portfolio.

Practical Information:
Duration: 3 to 6 months, with a flexible commitment of 5 to 8 hours per week.
Location: Available both locally in Rotterdam and remotely.
Cost: The course is free, supported by TechLabs’ volunteering community-driven learning model.
Certificate: A certificate is awarded upon successful project completion.
