Course Presentation
The enterprise challenge brings together multidisciplinary student teams to solve challenges donated by our enterprise partners. Over the course of 8 weeks students work through a design sprint incorporating team development, empathy, problem definition, ideation, prototyping, testing and storytelling to develop a solution direction for the enterprise partner. Running alongside their weekly workshops are 5 mentoring sessions (weeks 3-7) which develop students understanding of the problem and the solution fit for the industry and enterprise facing the challenge. Students work for 60+ hours on their Enterprise Challenge for the duration of the programme
The enterprise challenge programme graduate is one who has ignited their passion for innovation whilst nurturing their belief in their creative potential. They are creative and curious, enabling them to discover, explore and play with ideas before developing those with potential for impact. They are excellent communicator and team player who through the course of the programmes we offer have developed their technology and creative skills. They are a confident, creative, resourceful, person centric and resilient student who navigates ambiguity, have an entrepreneurial mind-set and are ready for the future.
The enterprise challenge is co-curricular and focusses on skills and talent development. The Enterprise Challenge has been designed, delivered and evaluated using Entrecomp. EntreComp is a common reference framework that identifies 15 competences in three key areas that describe what it means to be entrepreneurial. Within the Enterprise Challenge, Entrecomp has been used to support policy and practice to develop entrepreneurial skills, to assessing entrepreneurial skills, to design programmes and learning opportunities and to recognised and certify skills.
