Master in Physics and Astronomy

The course aim is to provide advanced knowledge and experience in physics at one of the best universities in Poland, among country leaders in the physics discipline. The institute of Physics in Torun performs world-class research on atomic, molecular and optical physics, quantum optics and quantum information, quantum chemistry and biophysics. Additionally, related subjects are taught including deep tech elements such as advanced computing, quantum computing, advanced materials, photonics, electronics, semiconductor physics and more.

Course Presentation

The course aim is to teach advanced physics, astronomy and related subjects. It is aimed at students who hold a bachelor’s degree in physics, astronomy, engineering or related fields. After the course, they will develop advanced knowledge and experience as scientists, with the specific focus on physics (experimental, theoretical) or astronomy and astrophysics.

The deep tech elements include programming, advanced computing, electronics, photonics, advanced materials, semiconductors, biophysics, quantum technologies.
The course is taught at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun and in the Astronomical Observatory in Piwnice, Torun.
