Course Presentation
ReActor Pro is a school of entrepreneurship and innovation for Ph.D. students, research assistants, young researchers, and scientists with innovative ideas and high growth potential. With a strong practical-applicative mindset, the project aims to provide methodologies, tools, and applicable experiences to approach entrepreneurship as a possible path of professional and personal development.
Many innovations originate from small teams of scientific researchers who have a limited understanding of the business world. ReActor Pro is designed to prepare such teams for the real-world challenges involved in moving from the laboratory to the marketplace. It started as a multidisciplinary course open to different sectors, but the last two editions have been focused on the digital health and life science industry. At the end of the course, participants have a clear idea of what it takes to turn their idea into a commercially viable product/service and a profitable enterprise.
The course is held once a year (usually in the first half of the year) and consists of 10 weeks training on entrepreneurship topics.
By participating in the programme, participants learn how to:
1. present their business idea to an audience of industry partners and investors;
2. learn about their target market, competitors and how to identify their value proposition;
3. address intellectual property challenges in order to avoid litigation, protect intellectual property and gain returns on innovation
4. define a strong business model
5. develop a roadmap for reaching the market;
6. prepare for sitting down at the negotiating table with an industrial partner or investor.
The teams are supported by a network of mentors and participate in meetings with financial investors, industrialists and other entrepreneurs.
At the end of the training period, each team presents its project in front of an audience of potential investors, professors, venture capitalists and industry representatives.
Following the pitch day, the most deserving team which has the idea with the highest potential gains direct access to the final selection phase of G-Factor’s next edition of its acceleration programme I-Tech Innovation.
