A collaborative journey to co-create Deep-Tech Startups: A conversation with Anton Adamovitch from Commercialization Reactor

“We believe in the power of collaboration, it’s not enough to excel in isolation; true innovation emerges when diverse minds come together to tackle complex challenges.”

Since 2009. EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative Pledger, Commercialization Reactor (CR), has been working with their proprietary methodology enabling over 150 Deep Tech teams. The method lays in empowering scientific talent and entrepreneurial-minded individuals to play, create, and co-develop business-oriented initiatives together.

Their focus led to the creation of a unique matchmaking process that would redefine the way deep tech ventures were born.

By joining the award-winning “Creation-to-Capital Cycle” scientists and entrepreneurs are learning how to co-create innovative ventures together, all aimed at solving the challenges of today and tomorrow.

Commercialization Reactor’s Ecosystem Architect, Anton Adamovitch, also an experienced deep-tech start-up founder and leader, said: “At the core of our mission is the belief that scientists should not have to compromise their passion for discovery in favour of entrepreneurship. We envisioned a world where scientific brilliance and entrepreneurial drive could coexist harmoniously, each complementing the other in pursuit of common goals.”

However, Commercialization Reactor’s approach is not merely theoretical, it’s deeply rooted in practicality and real-world impact. Through a meticulously designed transformation program, Anton and his Team have empowered an active portfolio of over 65 invested teams across various industrial sectors and science domains to navigate the complex journey from concept to commercialisation.

But what sets their program apart is its human-centric focus, emphasising every participant’s personal growth and development. As Anton explained: “We don’t just provide tools and resources; we nurture talent and foster a sense of community. Our program is as much about personal transformation as it is about business development. It’s about empowering individuals to realise their potential and make a tangible difference in the world.”

Central to their approach is the recognition that successful deep tech ventures are built on a foundation of diverse perspectives and skill sets. By bringing together scientists, entrepreneurs, and industry experts, Commercialization Reactor creates an ecosystem where innovation thrives and boundaries are transcended, which is also a significant contributing factor towards increasing the efficiency of Technology Transfer Offices that enter into collaborations with Commercialization Reactor.

For Anton, it’s not just about individual success; it’s about collective action and the shared responsibility to shape the future of deep tech innovation.

“As a player in the deep tech ecosystem, it’s our duty to lead by example, and also by leveraging platforms like the EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative, to forge meaningful partnerships that will shape the future of innovation for generations to come.”

The next Creation to Capital Cycle program starts on:

It is sponsored by Commercialization Reactor and is free of charge this year for all participants.
