In the dynamic landscape of education and innovation, EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative Pledger, Kimitisik, is reshaping traditional paradigms and fostering a culture of creativity and entrepreneurship. In a recent interview, Kimitisik’s Co-Founder and Organisational Dynamics Coach, Alessandro Tomasi, shares insights into his work with the Dutch organisation dedicated to education innovation and service provision.
With a background rooted in education and a passion for service, Alessandro’s journey with Kimitisik has been marked by a commitment to excellence and a relentless pursuit of innovation. At the heart of their mission lies a three-pronged approach: education innovation, entrepreneurship education, and ecosystem building.
“Our goal is to disrupt education by integrating innovative pedagogies and entrepreneurial mindsets,” Alessandro explained.
Central to their approach is challenge-based learning, a dynamic methodology that encourages participants to tackle complex problems head-on.
“We offer residential courses in universities focused on challenge-based learning, where students are empowered to create real-world solutions to contemporary industrial and social problems.”
By leveraging lean start-up methodologies and design thinking, Alessandro guides students through the process of ideation, iteration, and implementation, culminating in the creation of viable business models.
“We believe in the power of collaboration and interdisciplinary thinking,” Alessandro asserts. “By bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds, we foster a culture of innovation and creativity.”
Kimitisik’s commitment to inclusivity extends beyond the classroom, with Alessandro actively seeking to engage participants from all walks of life. Whether they are university students, academic staff, or policymakers, everyone has a role to play in shaping the future of education and innovation.
“We are firm believers in the democratization of education,” he stated. “By breaking down barriers and embracing diversity, we unlock untapped potential and pave the way for a prosperous future.”
With an ever-evolving education and training scene, Alessandro shared his vision where knowledge knows no borders and traditional boundaries dissolve and emphasised the importance of collective action and shared responsibility in driving progress forward.
“We are living in an age of unprecedented connectivity and opportunity,” Alessandro reflected. “It’s vital that we harness the power of technology and collaboration to create meaningful change.”
