The EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative, along with Pledgers Intel, JA Europe, and Wroclaw University of Science and Technology participated, along with other members of the EIT Community, at the recent 2-day Hello Tomorrow Global Summit in Paris.
The Hello Tomorrow Global Summit is a pioneering global event for deep tech founders, industry leaders and investors from various industries that offers valuable insights and showcases innovations. This year the EIT Community participated in the framework of the INNOVEIT event series.
Summit participants had the opportunity to visit the EIT Community exhibition area where they discovered what support they can receive from the EIT Community and the impact it makes, and find more information on the different Initiatives, including the EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative and its goal to train one million talents in deep tech by 2025.
Deep Tech Academy Stage: Boosting Deep Tech in Europe
On the Summit’s first day, Natalie Cernecka, EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative Manager, moderated a fireside chat that focused on why deep tech skills, and specifically AI in the current age are crucial for business growth. Alongside Natalie on stage were Michał Dżoga from Intel, Lena Weirauch, CEO and Founder of the start-up ai-omatic and Mark Boris Andrijanič, EIT Governing Board and Vice President of Kumo.AI.
“Europe needs to be more ambitious when it comes to its start-up ecosystems. While AI is changing the perspective, and bridging the digital and skills gap we have, a robust European digital market and closing the funding gap are key to boosting start-ups. However, without a skilled workforce they will struggle to scale. The EIT Deep Tech Initiative understands the crucial need to skill, reskill and upskill to ensure Europe remains competitive.”
Deep Tech Studio Event: INNOVEIT
The two-hour INNOVEIT event on the final day of the Summit focused on the high demand for talent in the deep tech sector, and attendees gained valuable insights from EIT Community Initiatives and Partners, and discovered how the EIT Community’s tailored programmes and support can accelerate growth and drive innovation.
“Training 1 million people in deep tech might sound ambitious, but there are hundreds of millions of people in Europe and we need to train most of them.”
