Our pledge
ECE wishes to join the Pledge to train more talents in deep tech to address the growing demand for skilled professionals in this transformative sector. Recognising that deep tech is pivotal for Europe’s technological leadership and economic growth, ECE aims to contribute by fostering entrepreneurial skills in deep tech, bridging the gap between innovation and market application. Training talents in both deep tech and entrepreneurship empowers a new generation of leaders who can navigate complex technological landscapes, ensuring that groundbreaking research translates into innovative deep tech solutions that have a positive societal impact. This commitment aligns with the EU’s strategic goals of boosting innovation, competitiveness, and sustainability. ECE is already actively involved in shaping entrepreneurship education in the Netherlands (at Erasmus University and in collaboration with other local higher education institutes, public and private organisations) as well as internationally through participation in EU calls (Horizon, SKIES project) and initiatives such as ENIHEI (leading the working group on women leadership in deep tech).

ECE is a leading international centre for entrepreneurship education and research. As part of Erasmus University Rotterdam, we offer insights made applicable for practice, develop (training) programmes based on the latest scientific knowledge, and host events and support services that cultivate entrepreneurial thinking and encourage entrepreneurial behaviour. Our focus areas are entrepreneurial competencies, ecosystems, scaling up and inclusive entrepreneurship.
