Our motivation to join the Pledge is driven by Istanbul Gelisim University’s (IGU) unwavering commitment to fostering educational excellence and innovation, both locally and globally. IGU, established as a non-profit foundation university in 2011, has rapidly evolved into a prominent institution with a strong emphasis on international collaboration and the development of globally competitive individuals.
IGU’s dedication to “Development” aligns perfectly with the goals of the Deep Tech Talent Initiative (DTTI). We aim to meet the emerging needs of Türkiye and the world through our comprehensive educational programs and strategic international partnerships. By joining the Pledge, we seek to further enhance our contributions to the deep tech ecosystem, leveraging our extensive resources and expertise to support the initiative’s mission.
IGU offers a robust portfolio of academic programs and initiatives that position us as a valuable contributor to the DTTI:
Our Cyber Security Academy and Artificial Intelligence Engineering programs are at the forefront of cutting-edge technology education. These departments are directly relevant to deep tech and are designed to produce skilled professionals equipped to tackle contemporary challenges in cybersecurity and AI.
“Advanced Cybersecurity Techniques” – This course provides hands-on training in cybersecurity practices, preparing students to protect critical infrastructure and data.
IGU hosts over 140 laboratories and 20 research centers, facilitating advanced research in various fields, including inclusive education policies, distance learning, and sustainability.
Our expertise in designing and implementing inclusive education policies ensures that we contribute to creating equitable and accessible learning environments.
IGU’s training policy objectives emphasize increasing societal contributions, fostering community partnerships, and enhancing the budget for community service activities.
With partnerships with over 190 universities worldwide and 93 student clubs, IGU promotes cultural, scientific, and athletic engagement, preparing students for global challenges.
IGU’s commitment to deep tech and educational innovation is further demonstrated by our recognition in international rankings. In 2022, IGU ranked 16th globally and first in Türkiye in the “Quality Education” category of the THE World Impact Rankings. Additionally, we are among the top 500 universities in Europe according to the QS 2024 University Rankings.

About
IGU continues its educational activities through various academic units such as 6 faculties, 2 vocational schools, 2 vocational colleges, and a Graduate School. Embracing the principle of “Development” to meet the needs of Türkiye, IGU stands out with its 49,666 graduates trained by accreditation standards. IGU’s campus includes an extensive research complex with more than 140 laboratories and 20 research centres, facilitating hands-on learning and extracurricular engagement for its students.
