Istanbul Kültür University is committed to advancing technological education and innovation, aligning our goals with the EU Deep Tech Talent Pledge. Our motivation to join stems from our dedication to equipping the next generation of technologists with deep tech skills across diverse fields such as aerospace, artificial intelligence, robotics, and sustainable energy technologies. We plan to launch a series of new initiatives and educational programs that will not only enhance our curriculum but also foster practical, hands-on experiences through collaborative projects and industry partnerships. These efforts are part of our broader strategy to cultivate a rich ecosystem of learning and innovation, preparing our students to lead and excel in an increasingly technology-driven world.
About
Istanbul Kültür University (IKU), which was established by the Kültür College Education Foundation (KEV) in accordance with the Law No. 4281 adopted by the Turkish Grand National Assembly on July 9, 1997, provides a high quality higher education services with the awareness that it is possible for the Republic of Türkiye and the Turkish nation to achieve its unchangeable goal of “exceeding the level of contemporary civilization”, with the awareness that it is possible for our youth to receive a qualified education.
In the 1997-1998 Academic Year, IKU started its activities in three faculties consisting of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (Department of Mathematics-Computer), Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (Department of Business Administration), Faculty of Engineering and Architecture (Departments of Civil Engineering and Computer Engineering) with 157 students and an academic staff of 32 people and Vocational Schools of Business Administration and Technical Sciences (Program of Business Administration and Computer Programming). IKU had its first associate degree graduates from Business Administration and Technical Sciences Vocational School in 1999, and its first undergraduate graduates (38 graduates) and first graduate graduates (10 graduates) in 2001. At the end of the 2021-2022 Academic Year, 887 graduates from associate degree programs, 1786 graduates from undergraduate programs, 300 graduates from master’s programs and 15 graduates from doctoral programs, totaling 2973 graduates. The total number of graduates of IKU between 1999 and 2022 has reached to 34165.
IKU provides service in four separate campuses on a total area of 127966 square meters, on the E-5 Highway and TEM Highway, of which 70216 square meters is indoors and 57,750 square meters is outdoors. In Ataköy Campus, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Art and Design, Graduate Education Institute provides education and training services. There are Faculty of Law, Vocational School of Justice, Department of Foreign Languages and Faculty of Health Sciences in Şirinevler Campus. IKU Vocational School (MYO) programs continue their educational activities in Incirli Campus. The Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and the Faculty of Education continue their activities in the Basın Ekspres Campus, which was opened in the 2018-2019 academic year. Ataköy campus, which is used as the main campus, also includes the Rectorate and its affiliated administrative units. All campuses of Istanbul Kültür University are easily accessible as they are located at the intersections of land, air, sea and rail system transportation. Having an international climate, IKU has 3264 in associate degree, 8579 in undergraduate, and 1545 in graduate degree and in total, 13,388 students.
ACADEMIC STAFF:
With its strong corporate culture, IKU provides education with a total of 700 academic staff, including 55 full-time Professors, 37 Associate Professors, 130 Assistant Professors, 287 part-time faculty members, 94 lecturers and 97 research assistants in 8 faculties, including Faculty of Education, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Art and Design, Faculty of Health Sciences for undergraduate degree, in IKU Vocational School and Justice Vocational School for associate degree and at the Graduate Education Institute for the master’s and doctorate degrees.
OUR ASSOCIATE, UNDERGRADUATE, GRADUATE PROGRAMS
Having a total of 31 undergraduate programs, 10 in English and 21 in Turkish, IKU offers associate degree education in a total of 29 programs, 1 within the Vocational School of Justice and 28 within the IKU Vocational School, which was established in 2019 with the merger of the Vocational School of Business Administration and the Vocational School of Technical Sciences with the approval of YÖK. IKU also provides education in 45 thesis, 26 non-thesis master’s and 9 doctoral programs in 24 branches of science and 4 main branches of art within the Graduate Education Institute.
