Our pledge
Our motivation is to empower deep tech startups because they drive innovation, create jobs, and tackle complex global challenges, ultimately benefitting society and keeping us at the forefront of technological advancements. Since 2018, our steadfast commitment has revolved around collaborating with researchers, facilitating their path to success. Over the years, our endeavors have included the implementation of the Rector’s Award, researcher training initiatives, and the launch of the Labs to Market program in 2020, utilizing the Market Opportunity Navigator methodology tool. Over the past four years, we’ve engaged with more than 60 research groups, playing a pivotal role in the creation and success of numerous spin-out ventures.

Furthermore, we’ve proudly aligned ourselves with the Deep Tech Alliance, where we stand tall among the top 10 incubators in Europe. Our knowledge base continually expands, bolstered by ongoing education, and our mentor network spans far and wide. As a cohesive team, we actively participate in diverse European deep tech programs, ensuring we stay at the forefront of innovation and support for researchers.

Ljubljana University Incubator (LUI) is the beating heart of Slovenia’s startup scene, founded by the University of Ljubljana in 2004. It’s not just an incubator; it’s a launchpad for ideas that have reshaped industries. From pioneering startups like Zemanta and Juicy Marbles to science-driven breakthroughs with Elaphe and Visionect, LUI has nurtured innovation, creating hundreds of jobs and securing over €70 million in funding.
In 2018, under new leadership, LUI sharpened its focus on supporting researchers. Today, we guide startups from idea to market success, offering mentorship, coaching, and fundraising support. We’re also a vital part of the Deep Tech Alliance, alongside ETH Zurich, PoliHub, and others, driving cutting-edge innovation in Europe.
