Our pledge
We would like to contribute to the development of Deep Tech skills. As the best technical university in Poland, we feel responsible for this. We would also like to increase awareness of the area of ​​commercialization and academic entrepreneurship.

About
Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) is one of the largest and most prestigious technical universities in Central Europe. It employs approximately 2,500 academic staff and serves over 35,000 students across 19 faculties, covering a wide range of disciplines, including engineering, architecture, computer science, and management. WUT also operates a highly regarded Doctoral School with over 1,300 doctoral candidates actively engaged in cutting-edge research. The university is recognized for its leadership in Priority Research Areas under the “Polish Excellence Initiative – Research University” (IDUB), with a strong focus on climate and energy systems, digital transformation, and health-related technologies.
Key disciplines under development include renewable energy, urban sustainability, artificial intelligence, robotics, and biomedical engineering. Research initiatives address pressing global challenges such as climate change, urban waste management, digital innovation, and health technologies. For example, WUT researchers have contributed to the design of smart city solutions in Warsaw, advancing the city’s energy efficiency and infrastructure modernization efforts. Projects in the health domain focus on medical device innovation and bioinformatics, bridging the gap between technology and healthcare.
WUT is also deeply committed to promoting innovative teaching and research practices. It fosters international collaboration, increases the mobility of students and staff, and develops interdisciplinary programs aligned with contemporary global needs. The university actively promotes STEM education through initiatives aimed at underrepresented groups, such as schoolgirls, while engaging non-traditional learners through programs like the Children’s University and the University of the Third Age.
At the forefront of innovation, WUT supports the commercialization of research results and start-up initiatives through its incubation and acceleration programs, for which the WUT Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer is responsible. These efforts integrate students, researchers, alumni, and industry stakeholders to create a thriving ecosystem of technology-driven companies, with active participation of the Faculty of Management and the Faculty of Technology and Mechanical Engineering.
