Politecnico is a research university that participates at the highest levels of international scientific research, since over 160 years.
Through its courses Politecnico di Torino can contribute to meaningful, large-scale impact in deep-tech and innovation and clean technologies.

About
The Politecnico di Torino (www.polito.it), founded in 1906 from the roots of the Technical School for Engineers created in 1859, has a long-standing tradition of leadership of polytechnic culture. It is one of the most important universities in Europe for engineering and architecture studies, strongly committed to collaboration with industry. Currently it is among the top Engineering and Technology universities in the world, the 47th according to the QS University Rankings 2021 by broad Subject, the 33th in Architecture and Built Environment, 25th for Civil and Structural Engineering and 30st in Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing by Subject.
At PoliTO around 1.000 Professors and Researchers carry out research and provide education to 37.000 students, including 5.000 international from more than 120 countries, on a wide catalogue of degree courses featuring 16 PhD and 30 MSc courses of which 60% in English. Its international education network features 1.000 agreements with EU and non-EU universities and international campuses in China and Uzbekistan. Within the European strategy for universities, PoliTO belongs to the European University Alliance Unite! and is part of some of the major European interuniversity networks such as CESAER, CLUSTER, EUA, T.I.M.E, SEFI, ISCN and Magalhaes.These contacts allow spreading and disseminating project results to a wide number of institutions. PoliTO is interested in developing permanent partnerships in research and education with industries that want to take advantage of university collaboration for innovation and development. The Cittadella Politecnica is the Campus dedicated to cooperation between the Politecnico and industries. Each year PoliTO draw up about 800 contracts with industries, government funded institutions, local organizations. The participation to many national and international projects allows PoliTO to accrue a great experience: it has about 568 international and national funded projects, among which in H2020 it has 268 approved projects with a total EU contribution of 104 million Euro and in Horizon Europe (for the period 2021-2023) it has 123 approved projects with a total EU contribution of 41 million Euro. It has also a strong experience in project coordination: the Research Support Department has been involved in the management of EU RTD projects since 1995. Politecnico di Torino is also active in many activities and projects aiming at citizens’ involvement in science such as the European Researchers’ Night and Biennale Tecnologia a permanent biennial event organized by PoliTO dedicated to technology’s impact on each aspect of human life.
