University of Tours
Our pledge
University of Tours was recently one of the winners of a national call of France 2030 roadmap. The ambition is to make innovation a factor of attractiveness for the region Centre Val de Loire. The objectives are to align, coordinate, and strengthen the actions of academic stakeholders and articulate them with socio-economic actors especially in Deep tech. To achieve this, the pledges of the university of Tours are structured around a dynamic between transversal actions and targeted actions, based on three strategic axes:
· Axis 1 “Technology Transfer” aims to strengthen actions for raising awareness, detection, and maturation of research results and their coordination to increase the flow of technology transfer from academic research to the socio-economic world.
· Axis 2 “Entrepreneurship” aims to promote the emergence of innovative businesses and Deeptech startups from students as well as academic researchers and teacher-researchers.
· Axis 3 “Strengthening ties with socio-economic actors” aims to more effectively and inclusively associate all regional innovation stakeholders, notably through reciprocal acculturation and structuring actions, animation of third places fostering exchanges between companies and academic laboratories, and the promotion of our technological platforms.
Joining the Pledge demonstrates our commitment to this mission and in perfect adequation with France 2030 roadmap. This can foster knowledge sharing, resource pooling, and collective problem-solving.
It also confirms our commitment to the Erasmus Neolaia project (https://neolaiacampus.eu/) where a model international educator motivating widening cohorts of students to engage in innovative research-informed and socially relevant study programmes crossing the borders of disciplines, research areas, countries and cultures, keeping pace with the digitalization of teaching and learning and at the same time cherishing personal contact and a tailor-made approach. A special workpackage is also dedicated to the women entrepreneurship.
Our goal is to ensure that the high-level academic research is conducted in synergies with these different projects and the high-impact education provided in our classrooms translates into practical solutions that benefit society and the economy.
Our pledge can drive the necessary funding and resources, encouraging breakthroughs that can solve critical global challenges.
The pledge of the university of Tours takes into account, ethical developments, and global competitiveness with the detection of top talent. The experience of EIT project SMART 2M and Deep Tech 2M were beneficial in opening up different perspectives and new courses to be implemented.
