Our pledge
The University of Trento is committed to advancing deep tech education to meet the evolving demands of the European innovation ecosystem. Our motivation to join the EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative Pledge stems from our dedication to bridging the skills gap in deep tech areas and fostering a diverse, inclusive, and highly skilled workforce. Educational Initiatives
School of Innovation of the University of Trento (SoI): The SoI provides a range of specialized courses and programs designed to equip students with cutting-edge knowledge in fields such as Entrepreneurship, ESG applied to innovation, startup foundation. These courses are tailored to foster innovation and practical problem-solving skills.
Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science (DISI): DISI offers advanced research and training programs, ensuring students gain in-depth expertise in emerging technologies and practical experience in deep tech applications. Training Programs We have developed a series of intensive workshops, summer schools, and online courses targeting secondary education pupils, higher education students, and adult learners in the workforce.
These programs are designed to enhance technical skills and promote gender diversity in STEM fields.
Collaborative Projects
We aim at proposing collaborative projects that will include developing AI-powered educational tools and cybersecurity simulation environments. These projects will not only provide practical training but also contribute to ongoing research and innovation in deep tech.
Collaborative Partners
We have already identified two possible partners for the above mentioned activities: Trentino.ai: Focuses on AI-driven projects, providing students and professionals with hands-on experience in developing and implementing AI solutions across various industries. Trentino.ai’s initiatives include workshops and hackathons that stimulate creativity and innovation.
Fondazione Negrelli Ordine degli Ingegneri: This foundation supports the professional development of engineers through specialized training programs and certifications. It aims to enhance the technical skills of its members and prepare them for the challenges of the deep tech landscape.
By joining the Pledge, we commit to leveraging our expertise, resources, and network to contribute significantly to the EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative’s goal of skilling one million talents by the end of 2025.
About
The University of Trento was founded in 1962 and has always aimed at building alliance and reciprocal efficiency with Italian and foreign institutions and organizations.
There are more than 16,000 students, about 800 researchers and the same number of technical and administrative staff. Research and education are performed in 11 Departments and 4 research Centers. Above numbers indicate that the University can provide an ideal environment for study and research.
